up 7:30 AM, dressed, washed,
tea and toast, Shaved, KR, left to corner to catch bus and streetcar to work,
talked, ready, to Café coffee and a bun, then calling on accounts, to office at
10:30 AM, put orders in. Called on one more account, to office, talked to Bob
Murdock About buying a house. broke a glass in the showcase by accident, talked,
I waited for Lily who came at 1:20 PM talked, then went to her place for
lunch talked she gave me some stuff to bring home left at 2:30 PM bus and
streetcar home Gave Rhoda the stuff from Lily. Laid down Rhoda went shopping.
out and raked the front lawn until seven, Quit because of mosquitoes and put
stuff away, supper Rhoda's got the cold now, read, I went and got water and
emptied wash water talked then to bed at 10:30 PM did some loving,

up at 9:30 AM
Rhoda feeling pretty bad, Dressed, breakfast, kids up, Talked, out, piled wood
all morning till 1 PM finished it, talked, Went and got water, got a few spruds
up from the basement had lunch, cut grass till 3 PM, slept till about 5 PM, out,
picked beans in the garden, got kids to go to store, fooled around till 6 PM
fixing shed and also the yard, In, supper, got water, fooled around with Jack
fixing train tracks, kids out so was able to put tracks together and connected
up, but still won't go, so will have to take parts to electric shop, find out
what's wrong, Kids in, talked a while, then did writing, 10:20 PM, read talked
then to bed
August 25, 1947 Monday

dressed, tea, shaved, washed, KR out to corner, to work, in, talked, ready, to
café for coffee and toast, Back to office, got stuff called on accounts till 11
AM, to warehouse, put orders in, talked, left on streetcar to home, read, slept
for a half hour, left, bus to Erzinger's, talked, Left on afternoon calls, back
by 4 PM, put orders in, talked and fooled around with the guys till 5 PM, I went
to the street car and home, in read paper, supper, did a few things till dark,
put stuff away, got water, emptied water, Read, had a snack, bed.

26, 1947 Tuesday
Temperature at noon 62°F
up at 7:15 AM Dressed, tea, shaved and
washed, KR, left by bus and streetcar to Erzingers, 8:20 AM into office,
talked and watched and helped Albert a while, walked around window shopping,
Back at 10:30 AM, put orders in, 11:15 AM out to Main Street streetcar home, in,
read, ate, lay down and slept till 1:30 PM, Rhoda woke me up, telephone men are
here, watched them, talked with them, No phone for us yet, told Rhoda, left to
corner to catch bus to work, in, talked, made a couple of calls back in, helped
Albert all afternoon till 5 PM, out to Saratoga Lanes. Played two games won 1,
6:30 PM out to streetcar to home, in, read paper, supper, worked on kitchen
floor putting stripping and beading down, finished, swept floor, cleaned up,
emptied can and water, In, talked, read, to bed
August 27, 1947 Wednesday

up at 7:10 AM, dressed tea and toast, shaved and
washed, KR, out to corner bus to Erzinger's in, out to café, To office left,
made calls on Max's accounts, back in telephoned accounts, fellow there
promised to have phone in on Thursday, girl in cafeteria introduced me to him,
finished calls, to office at 10:45 AM, Put orders in, out to Main Street
streetcar home, in, talked, lunch, got wood and water for Rhoda, left to corner
bus, to office, phoned telephones, out on rest of calls till 3:30 pm put orders
in, helped with orders till 4 PM, then Bill Woods and I got
bowling teams fixed, talked with Albert, Joe and Ray about bowling, left 5:30 PM
to Donald Street streetcar home, Talked, read paper, lay down, slept till 8 PM,
got wash water in, chopped wood and brought it in, put things away, did writing
till 9:20 PM, talked and so to bed

streetcar to Erzinger's, in, got books ready, Checked stock, left at 9:20 AM,
called on Max's accounts, to office at 11 AM, put orders in, talked, left to
Main Street streetcar, home, talked had lunch lay down a while Left for street
car back to work, called on more accounts till 4 PM, back to office put orders
in, help with orders till 5 PM talked about bowling, left at 5:30 PM to Donald
Street streetcar, home, no phone yet, read paper, Jessie and Gail Here for
supper, fooled around in Garden, Carol here, cut a lot of
weeds down in front yard, Jessie, Lil and Lawrence were here a while to get
Lily's Stuff finished weeds, put stuff away, sat and talked till 10 PM, Jessie
and Gail gone home, kids to bed, talk and then to bed

corner street car to work, in, talked and got ready, called on accounts until 11
AM, to office, put orders in, talked, left to Main St. Streetcar, home, lunch,
dozed, left to corner street car to office, in, talked, left, called on more
accounts till 3:30 PM, To office, put orders in, talked, to Café on Graham Street
then to HBC and to Eatons to get schoolbooks, to office, 4:30 PM, talked, out to
beer parlor with Joe and Roy, two beers, then rushed to café To meet Lily she
gave me a lot of meat and also some jam, to Donald Street streetcar, home no phone
yet, Rhoda looked at stuff, then took some meat to her mother, back, read paper,
Worked on a record player for sometime, found I had done it wrong, so left it
for the time being, put stuff away, got water in, read till 10:30 PM,

talked, got order book, Checked stock, called on 10 accounts, finished 11:30 AM,
to office, put orders in, fooled around till 12:30 PM, out to bowling alley with Albert
myself Ray, Joe and Ron D, bowled two games, my scores 196-165 Out, 1:30 PM, to
Donald St. streetcar, met Mrs. Lennox and Betty Ann on the street car, home,
talk, lunch, Rhoda going to do shopping, took stuff from porch and put it
away, finished after Rhoda got back, Still no phone, talked, read paper,
supper, did the odd thing then to bed

up at 9:30 AM, dressed, got breakfast ready for everyone, talked and
looked at Garden, then chopped wood, Thick and thin, filled the porch with big
wood, Jack got a cold and not feeling so good, but he went and brought a box of
small wood in, talked, read, Trimmed tomato plants, pulled weeds and other
things, with Rhoda helping, in at 3:30 PM Laid down, slept till 5 PM, supper,
did the odd thing, read, we had supper in the dining room, talked most of the
evening then went to bed
