Family History Family Group Records Explained.

A family group record is a grouping of people who make up an original family of parents and children.

So hopefully you can see that each CHILD in a family group will usually have their own family group record that includes Father, Mother, Children.

The First, or most recent direct Family Group is Headed by John Frederick Barker so it includes his wife and Children, one of those children is John Richard Barker.

The family group record for John Richard Barker is stated at the bottom of each page of this blog, where if you are in this family group you should be able to find yourself either by name or by gender and place number.   Scroll Down and see if you can find your name, so you know where you stand...

The Family groups appear above this posting as I enter them, so it could be a bit confusing if you are looking at Group Records from the top of the pages, but also the first ones at the top of the page will be further back in time, and depending on how your thought process works, as you read down, you will be coming forward in time...

When particular events apply to someone in a family group, I will add to the post where that person is included in a particular group.

Whew!  By the Way, if you have a question or comment please go to our Facebook group (limited membership) and write your response there.

2019 -- John Richard Barker's Family Ancestry and Family Stories

I have decided to enhance this blog with the documented family ancestry of John Richard Barker as I currently know it and have documents to verify or are clearly known by family members.  I plan to use "family group" tables to show each generation's members.  No one born after 1930 will be named for privacy reasons, those persons with be noted as Son #1, Daughter #2, etc, the numbers refer the placement in birth order.  If you want other details not yet posted on this blog, I have an ancestry.ca account with photos of people and official documents.  My Ancestry account is public but to access it you would need a temporary free Ancestry account, or an invite to view my Family Tree there.  Just email me, or message me -- some of the family already have invites on there but may have forgotten.  This project is a fun thing for me and takes up alot of my retirement hours, but it also costs dollars.  I don't mind constructive critisism, but if I have an error in my files, dates, places or even a misspelling of a name I would appreciate being told and please include the correction so that I can make it right.
For now,  take the opportunity to read back in some of John Barker's writings.

A couple of details to note:  When you get to the bottom of the scrolled page, to read more posts, click on the words OLDER POSTS, that will take you to another long set of posts and continue until you finally get to the end -- right now, I can't tell you how many 'pages' there are to scroll through -- but I might get around to counting them...

Also, below the OLDER POSTS link is a section that includes current family members - if you find errors or ommissions kindly let me know,  or if you are reading this blog and you don't want your name included let me know that too.   If you have grandchildren born or marriages that add to the family let me know those details -- if it is okay, or you can let me know, and stipulate that you don't want the names to appear on the blog.  I will adjust things as quick as I am able.

Mainly, ENJOY and learn about your family.

Recently I read that to understand and know your family, everyone should know, their grandmothers and grandfathers names, their birthday, and where they were born.  It is a great start for children to understand who came before, even if they did not get to meet them or know them.
