March 25, 1977 Friday Weather, Mild temp at noon +3C
10th day at Greenacres
up at 6:30 am to bathroom, back to bed, dozed, made love to Rhoda but we never finished, got up, washed, dressed, breakfast, sat around awhile, packed pole lamp, saws and blades, and stools in a carton. Upstairs read, lunch, talked, slept, up at 1:30, talked, then out to buy gardening tools I want. Lawnmower still out there. Came in, talked, read paper, G & J here and gone by 5:30, went out for a walk, in, talked, supper, dozed, watched TV all evening. did writing til 10:15, had a beer, to bed, got the brush off from Rhoda so I went to sleep.
March 26, 1977 Saturday Weather - mild, temp at noon +2C
11th day at Greenacres
woke up at 7:30am, can't sleep, Rhoda up so I got up, dressed, washed, breakfast, read, sat around, never spoke to Rhoda cause I'm mad at her. down packing stuff. Jack here at 10:30am - I wouldn't go so he took Rhoda to a AMWAY meeting, continued to pack a bunch of things in cartons. had tea at 11:30 with Chris and Susan and they got some of their stuff from the freezer, talked they are gone. Shirley Clark (Andrews) phoned and talked awhile, she said her mother Rose has gone in St Boniface Hospital with a mild heart attack, otherwise OK. Rhoda back at 12:30, with Jack and Joan, told her Shirley phoned so she phoned back and talked, Gerry and Jane back. Jack and Joan left and took Healing plant, and split leaf Philodendrum and went home. Did a few things around the house til 4pm, Rhoda wanted to go out but I didn't so we didn't. read paper, watched tv, supper, talked, not feeling good, watched tv til 7:30, again Rhoda bugging me to go out, not me. and then did writing and stayed in the den til 9:30, Rhoda back from where she went, watched TV, had tea, went to bed 11pm.
March 27 1977 Sunday Weather: mild, temp at noon +7C
12th day at Greenacres
Rhoda spent in the last 2 days - K-mart clothing $5.28, Grocery $7.68,
up at 7:30am, upstairs to LR, down to bed dozed, made love to Rhoda, up at 8:40am, dressed, washed, breakfast, read and talked then we fixed stereo and records in packing so they are ready to go. talked, read, lunch. Gerry out with Jane, 1pm, down, slept, up, talked, Rhoda getting supper ready, phoned Art but he is out, talked, read, dozed, Mr. Strachan, here for supper, talked with him, he left 9pm, did writing til 9:25pm, watched tv, had a beer, talked, to bed, slept.
March 28, 1977 Monday Weather: mild , temp at noon +6C
13th day at Greenacres
up at 7:30am, up to bathroom, back to bed, dozed til 8:30am, dressed, washed, breakfast, read awhile, fixed screws on chairs, nothing much to do, talked. Rhoda, Jane and Terry out in car, gone to Grebs and to pick up Jane's tupperware so I got my books and numbered the pages until 11:30 pm. Rhoda and Jane and Terry back with Susan and Neil, talked about family heritage and how to trace families. Had lunch then dozed til 1pm, shaved and washed, and talked to Gerry awhile, he said Al Moat resigned so he is finished at Rothmans, a new guy is there today. Left in car to Berry Street to take Susan and Neil home, then left via Kenaston and Pembina to St. Adolphe, then we realized the Credit Union is closed on Monday so we never went, back the same way to Polo Park, parked the car near Simpson Sears, bought Certs and a choco bar cost 73 cents. to the Jewellery stor and bought expansion bracelet for watch and a new watch for Rhoda spent 11. 55, downstairs, looked at washers, met Harold who used to work at Erzingers when I was there. had to wait awhile, finally made a deal and charged it, to be delivered on saturday to Green Acres - to office, had some trouble cashing Rhoda's check, to Catalogue counter, then left to home via Portage. in, talked, read paper, watched tv then supper, dozed and watched tv til 9pm, did writing, then went down to bed, talked, went to sleep.
March 29, 1977 Tuesday Weather: cloudy and cool, temp at noon +2C
14th day at Greenacres
up at 7:30am, up to bathroom down to bed dozed, up at 8:10am, dressed and washed, breakfast sat around, shaved and changed then we made a list of money on hand and what we can get. decided won't need to borrow. got cards and letters ready, finally got away at 10:40am, to Rothman's, Rhoda and I in, talked with Mr Feller for quite awhile and with Mr. Stiles, then left at 11:45 to the credit union at Niverville, usual way, we drew our money out my account $115.98 Rhodas $379.30. then to a cafe for lunch, cost $5. 75, then to St. Boniface, parked in hospital lot, cost $1, in, finally found where she was but met Harold first, they moved her to another room while we were there, Harold gone, talked, Art and Eleanor arrived while we were there, so had to leave and decided to come home, came in and had an argument, got mad as usual, went and did some writing, Phil here, talked, he did some phoning, then Rhoda phoned Strachans that we won't be ther out at 5:30pm, the three of us to Shangri-la restaurant, parked at back, cost us $10.81 plus 50 cents tip, out to car, back via McBey St in talked, read paper, Gerry and Jane back, Phil gone wated tv til 11pm, then to bed.
March 30th, 1977 Wednesday Weather: windy and cold, temp at noon +3C
15th day at Greenacres
up at 4am upstairs to bathroom, back to bed, dozed til 8am, up dressed, washed and breakfast, read, talked, brought round table up and put it together, read, talked, lunch at 12, slept til 1:15, Rhoda woke me up, got ready and out at 1:45 to Lapidary store on Portage near Moray, parked and waited for Rhoda, she's back cost $$1.90, left to Polo Park to bank of commerce, cashed check for $147.05, to car and to Gen Elec, bought a kettle for Gerry and Jane, cost $33.89, to florist and ordered flowers for Rose, cost $12.10, then to Can Tire, bought rollers and sheeting, cost $20.98, then to Eatons and flower pot cost $2.08. walked in mall awhile, they had animals and such on display, met and talked to Mr. Strachan, then left to car and went to jet car wash and that cost another $3.00, went to drugstore and bought stamps and posted Rhoda's unemployment insurance return, cost $9.63 including Western Express Lottery tickets, home put stuff in, gave Jane and Gerry kettle, talked, read supper, Rhoda looking after Terry while G&J gone out dozed and watched tv til 8pm did writing and read all evening, had tea and a donut, Gerry and Jane back at 10:45, talked, went to bed at 11:30pm, went to sleep.
