up 11:10am dinner, laid on couch, read, walked around in garden, slept, ate, read, wrote in diary, straightened everything for the month. Lilly called me and said she felt so lonely and was crying. Read, supper, talked to Art, dressed, Rhoda here at 8:15pm, to store & back, laid on chesterfeild, Rhoda here til 11;30pm, Walked to Rhodas, there til 1:15am, home, bed, spent 35¢

August 2, 1937 Monday Weather: cloudy, rain, temp at noon +80F

up 8:15am let in iceman, breakfast, cut lawn, finished at 10:30am, boy, are the mosquitos bad, laid on chesterfield, listened to radio, dinner, wrote in diary, did dishes, (25 days left and Rhoda will be my wife) Foxx 26 homeruns, worked in garden for awhile, dressed, out to Regans then to Rhoda’s, waited around til 8:30pm and then out for a walk, back to our place, laid on chesterfield, I went crazy, & she said she was disappointed in me and I don’t blame her a bit – on verandah, talked til 11:20, to Rhoda’s talked for a while, left for home at aa:45pm, bed, spent zero.

up 7:10am, breakfast, out to streetcar to Erzinger’s, orders til 2:15, swept up, piled stock on tables, oiled floor – left at 4:15, to Mitchell Copps, paid $1.00, to Donald streetcar, talked to Eve Horton, home, read paper, slept, supper, diary, read, shaved & washed & dressed and out to store. To Dentist – got my plate – boy does it feel funny, but I suppose I’ll get used to it in time. up 11am, ate, foolded around, read, put hose on, cut flowers, laid on chesterfield, read and slept til 5pm. Supper, diary, read, I hope Rhoda comes over tonight, out to garden, watered it and other things, Lily gone out with Harold A.
