Stock most of morning, tea at ten, out for lunch at 12:30pm, in car, home, talked, Rhoda better but I whish she would go and see Dr. So we know whats wrong instead of guessing - left in car & back to work - same as morning - tea at 3 - the same til 5:15pm - out in car - home - in and talked, read paper, supper - dozed - washed, shaved, ready, out in car with Rhoda and I took her to Mum’s, uptown to go bowling, parked car, beer parlour, 2 beers, to bowling alley, bowled poor - 566, out in car to Lennox’s, talked had something to ead, drink, home by 12:30am, talked, bed.

Kildonan, picked up EVE - to work, parked car, talked, orders and fixing, on & off til 10, tea- the same til 12:45, out in car, home, lunch, read, then in car and back to work - same as morning. 3pm had tea, orders til 5:15pm in car, home, read paper, supper, dozed, did some work on cupboard, needs to be painted now. Read different things til 11:30pm, out in car downtown, picked up Rhoda and home, bed.

up 7:10 am, dressed, shaved, washed, tea, read, KR, in car, picked up Eve, stock til 10, tea, then same til 12:45pm, out in car, home, to store first for butter, lunch, talked, in car back to work, orders and stock til 3, tea, the same til 5:15pm, to Mall bowling alley, bowled fair, home by 7:15pm, Jack out and Bett & Linda at show, fixed fire, slept til 8, did bowling scores & writing, read and dozed til 12, out, got Rhoda, home, fixed fire and to bed.

up at 7 - dressed - tea, KR, out in car and down to work after picking up Eve - talked - orders til 10, tea, the same til 12:45, out in car & home, lunch, left back to work, same as morning, had tea at 3, ready & left at 5:15pm, to Empire Hotel with Dave & Marcel & Howie, had too many, out in car and got home, how I didn’t know - was very woozy, slept, vomitted, got ready, left to downtown, parked at bowling alley, bowled poor, home by 11:30, dozed, phone rang, out in car, picked up Jessie & Rhoda, took Jessie home, in, talked, bed.

up at 10am, dressed, fixed fire, breakfast, talked, then out, sifted ashes, then cleaned walks of snow, in, talked, lunch, then to ShopEasy, got groc’s, home put stuff in, talked, ready, out and downtown - Chris with us, took Rhoda to work, the home, read paper, ate, slept til 6, read most of evening, on & off til 11:50, out in car to downtown, is it every slippery driving, snowing again, got Rhoda & Jessie, home, talked and so to bed.

March 15, 1953 Sunday Weather: partly cloudy, cool, temp at noon +18F

up about 9:30 am dressed - breakfast - got fires going - up fooled around, straightening up bench downstairs & helping Rhoda, emptied washer, washed kitchen floor, then talked about getting a mattress for our bed, decided to move things anyway so took sides off the davenport and moved it to dining room and put it together again - talked - lunch read - laid down til 4:30pm listened to radio, then in basement got springs down from where we had it died on roof, brought it up and put legs on it, talked, read, then put Chris & Linda to bed, Bett & Jack out, sat on chesterfield for an hour or so, then did writing while Rhoda ironed, Jack in, ate, talked, Bett in at 11:45pm bed, slept.

up at 9:30 dressed Spring Begins, breakfast, talked, light fire got ready by 12:30, out in car, won’t go, got a push, after making Jack stay in because of misbehaviour, left, picked up friend of Betts, to Hbay store via Salter St. Parked car there til 2, to Safeway on Salter, did grocery shopping, then home by 3, read, fixed fire, lunch, laid down, Rhoda came & woke me up by fooling around, so we petted a bit & then she says later - Bett home, out, sifted & emptied ashes, Chris in, fooled around, cleaning front sidewalk til 6, read paper, ate, got kinda peeved at Rhoda because of the remarks she made, phoned Rita, can’t bowl, radio, wiped dishes, cleaned kettle, Rhoda peeved & so am I, I wish I had gone bowling now - diary - read - bed..

up at 9:30 dressed, breakfast, read, downstairs, lit fire, and swept basement floor, did the odd thing, down there til 12:30, dozed & read til 1pm, lunch - read & sat awhile, then out to car and it started so asked Rhoda if she wanted to go for a ride, even though she’s mad at me, ready, left at 2pm, out to city park via Wellington Cres, rode around park, then over bridge to Portage, to Arlington - north to Burrows to Main to bridge and out Henderson Hwy and back home by 3pm. Talked, did this & that, read, supper, talked, ate, read, then bed at 12.

Stock til 10, upstairs- tea, talked, the same til 12:45, out in car to home, lunch KR, to Hydro, paid last month’s bill, so back to work, counted conf stock til 3pm, between interruptions. Tea, talked, the same til 5:15, out in car, took Eve home, then home, read paper, supped, dozed, lit fire, finished writing & bowling scores, 9:25, read the rest of the night til 11:50, out in car, snowing & blowing bad, picked up Rhoda & Jessie, home, then home ourselves, talked & argued a bit about things, then to bed, slept.

up 9, dressed, upstairs, water tank bust, Rhoda says. turned heater off & water, phoned a plumber, then breakfast. Art & Eleanor here, left kids, theyre gone, ate, drove car around the front and washed it, took me til 11am, tea & bread, Art & Eleanor are back, told us they were taking Double Mortgage to buy Lil’s share of Property on Chalmers, talked about different this for quite awhile, they’re gone, plumber here to fix tan, left and downdown, to bowl, did a poor job, out and took Van and Ken home, down to Whitey’s S. Stn.
