up 8:45 am Breakfast, washed dishes, continued work on basement, cleaned it all up, swept up, read, dinner, radio, dozed, over to Mrs Perlman’s, phone for boss at Erzingers, diary, shaved & washed, read all afternoon, supper, dressed, out to Rhoda’s helped her with dishes

up 8:05 am, breakfast, washed, out to Regans on Martin Ave. Straightened it out about tickets - back home, read, played 3 games of rings, won, dinner, listened to radio, played 3 more games, won, dishes, wrote in diary, read, made bed, washed socks, read all afternoon, supper, listened to radio, dishes, rings, 9:30pm Bob Young here, out to rink til 10:20pm, out to Kildonan, met Rhoda at Melbourne Ave. She tells me she has taken another job & I wanted her to stop all together, I guess it is damn near hopeless trying to stop her, the way her mother thinks, well, something’s got to be done & I’ll tell her so Friday. Home, milk and pie, bed.
March 6, 1937 Saturday Weather: partly cloudy, mild temp at noon +30F
up 6:55am, lit fire, breakfast, washed, met G. Hunt on streetcar, Erzingers, worked, put orders up for country and city til 1:30pm, swept up, closed up, stopped at store, couldn’t find what I wanted, got tobacco 15¢, streetcar home, talked, sold both books of tickets, slept, wrote in diary, to Petersons, got my watch, cost $1.00, paid 50¢, out to Rhoda’s, Hell of a row over a overcoat. Went to Rudolph’s tailor, there til 8pm, to Rhoda’s, every damn time, her mother put a kink in things, I’m getting plenty fed up, believe me, to Hazel & Harolds, ate there, left 12:20 am, walked Rhoda home. Left ther 1:40 am home, bed. Spent 90¢ today.

up 8:50 am, breakfast, feel pretty low, got a bad cold, I guess, every part of me aching, laid on chesterfield, help empty washer, set table dinner, dishes, read & slept all afternoon, supper, read paper & listened to radio til 7:30pm, wrote in diary, shaved & washed, Rhoda here, I was mean to her, talked, listened to radio, everybody gone to bed, laid on chesterfield- Rhoda and I til 12:05, out to Rhodas to walk her home, home again, took 3 aspirins, bed.

up 9:15am, breakfast, feeling low, aching in every bone, chopped ice from around garage door, inside, sat around, dinner listened to radio, 1:30pm took 3 aspirins, laid down and slept til 5:30pm, read paper, set table, supper, did dishes, wrote in diary, will not go to play hockey tonight, I think I’ll go over to see Rhoda {Howie Morenz star centre of Montreal Canadiens pro hockey team died Monday night in Montreal, heart is is said} out to Rhoda’s, Rhoda out at new place, she didnot tell me Monday, talked to Mrs. Lennox & Mr. Lennox til 8:45pm. Left to that place on Munroe Ave with Rhoda til 9:45pm home, played 3 games of Rings with Art, won 1, bed.

Hartz, gave him his records, talked, he left, bed 12pm

up 6:55 am, lit fire, breakfast, brought up Dad aspirins & water, woke Lily & Art, down and out to streetcar, saw F.Hunt, Erzinger’s, worked orders, country & city til 1pm, swept up, got papers, talked to Albert, to Donald St, streetcar, home, laid down & slept til 5;30pm read paper, supper, radio, dishes, swept floor, shaved & washed, wrote in diary, watch broke again, read, out to Rhoda’s, talked, out to Roxy Theatre, saw "The Great Zigfield" out at 11:30, to Rhoda’s, had tea & cake, feel tired, left at 12:30 home, bed.

up 10:30am, dinner read til 2pm, dishes, out to rink, watched game, then played, lost 6-3 2pts me, total 29pts–home–talked, supper, listened to radio til 6:30pm dishes, brought in wood, shaved & washed, dressed, Rose & Harold here, played cards til 10pm, fixed furnace, walked over to Rhoda’s, talked, read her diary up to date, pretty nice, no wonder she hesitated in letting me read it. Home 12:30pm, talked to Art, bed.

up 7:55am, feeling low, lit fire, breakfast, bought cocoa and toast for Dad, read, washed & wiped dishes, radio, dinner, radio, played rings with Art, won all 3 games, outside & got the drains running, inside at 4pm on chesterfield, dozed, read til 5pm, supper, shaved & washed & dressed, went to Henry’s got two loaves of bread, home, out to drugstore, got pictures showed them to Lily, out over to Rhoda’s, read & talked til 11, tea and toast, left there at 12:20, home, bed.

up 6:45 am, lit fire tea & breakfast, took Dad up a cup of tea, washed dressed, ready and out to streetcar, talked to Mr. Simpson on streetcar, Erzingers swept up, orders, til 2pm, talked to Albert, gave me cigarettes, out to Donald St. Streetcar, home, read paper, shaved & washed, supper, read, played games won them all, put thermogene on Dad’s back, out and met Rhoda at Washington Ave, to Roxy, saw "Charge of Light Brigade" and Bunker Bean, good show, out at 11:20 , to Rhoda’s place, talked to Mr & Mrs. Lennox, had tea & cake, left at 12;20, spent 70¢.

up 11;15, dinner, dishes, swept floor, played 7 games of rings, won 4, read, talked, out for a walk by my self to Brazier St. To Kelvin and out to Trent St. Went to Robbes CafĂ© and had a coke, talked to Nelson Murray, out and met Janet Morris, went for a walk with her to Talbot along Nairn and back to Brazier, Stood talking at Brazier & Chalmers til 5pm, home, supper, Harold & Rose, Shirley, Doug & Jessie here for supper, Rhoda never came this Sunday. Played cards til 10:30pm, Art played 2 games, won, bed. Spent 5¢.

up 8:15am, breakfast, read til 9:30, dishes, fixed furnace for Dad, Lily & Norma gone for the day, brought in wood, read, Art pressed my pant, dinner, played rings til 2pm, shaved & washed, changed socks, read & slept til 5:15pm, read paper, supper, out to Peterson’s and got Art’s watch, home, rolled cigarettes, out to Rhoda’s – Kay Inkster there & boy did she snub me & how. Kay Inkster should stay away from Rhoda & I wish she would cause every time she’s been around Rhoda changes towards me. There til 11, home bed at 11;15.

Home 12:15.
