up 10am dressed, ate, washed dishes, out to shack at rink, played cards, home, lunch, played ball all afternoon, home, supper, out to Rhoda’s, talked, left to Highway, met Herb A. And Art, walked around talked, home, read, bed. Mom pretty sick.

**this day was the first time I took Rhoda out, to the Roxy Theatre, home afterwards.
June 1, 1934 Friday
up in a hurry, word from hospital that Mum was dying, got a taxi, told him to rush but he stopped for gas so we then arrived to late. Mum had died at 7:15 am, can’t remember anymore too upset by all that happened & we lost the best one of all.
June 5, 1934 Tuesday
The day of Mum’s funeral, from Thomson’s on Broadway to Elmwood Cemetary, then home, Dad wanted to serve drinks but we said no. Rained all day.
July 2, 1934 Monday
No record of morning, lunch, read, dressed, out to janet Morris’s at 3pm on Union Ave. Talked had supper there, then we went for a walk, back to her place, in, talked a little necking & kissing, then left for home 11pm, read and so to bed.
July 3, 1934 Tuesday
up 8:30 am dressed, breakfast, out to streetcar, to Arctic Ice on Edmonton St, talked to Bob Young, then got his car, home, out took Lil, in car to Eatons then to Aunt Mary Ann’s home and then to Nellie Fitz’s, back and gave Art his third driving lesson, home then out to Rhoda’s, and over to Kay’s and back to Rhoda’s, then home, supper, took car back to Bob, home at 8pm, out and saw a ball game at the Park awhile then walked over to Alf Sharp’s in Kildonan, met Rhoda and walked to her place. Talked, home, bed.
July 4, 1934 Wednesday
no record of morning, lunch and to park, home slept, supper, then out to Rhoda’s, played records, talked, KR, home 11pm. Lil has now moved in with Norma as she has separated from Bob Young.
July 13, 1934 Friday
no record of morning, or afternoon, supper, met Al H. Walked, out to Kildonan, Met Rhoda and Kay, Kay went home, Rhoda & I walked along river bank, did some loving, then to her place had a few kisses, then left for home, in, talked, and so to bed.

out to Arctic Ice, saw Bob Young and borrowed his car, to Rhoda’s then left with Rhoda and her Mom to Kay’s on Helmsdale then to Birds Hill and we picked Saskatoon berries for about 2 hours, started back but got a flat tire so changed it, to Rhoda’s then took Kay home, then took car back to Bob at Arctic Ice, changed, out to Rhoda’s and had supper there, talked, had a few kisses and then left, home at 11pm.

up 9am, dressed, breakfast, fooled around all morning, lunch, saw Rhoda, Kay & Janet, in the afternoon, home, supper, Bob & Dad went out together this morning and never got back til evening, Lil feeling bad, went out, met Rhoda & Kay, then home, bed.

up 9:30 am, dressed, breakfast, washed dishes, cleaned up basement, listened to World Series, St Louis NL 11, Detroit AL 0, final game. Did writing, Art gone out, peeled spuds and cut up cabbage, lit fire, read paper, Art, then Lil in for supper, washed dishes, in all night, reading, bed 10:30pm
October 12, 1934 Friday
up 7am dressed, down, Bob here & asked me to drive his mother to Stony Mtn. Said okay, went with him to Arctic ice, took car to Ft Rouge, got Mrs. Young and drove to Stony Mt. Penitentiary, she went in, I waited about an hour, took her home, then home around 5pm, supper put the vegetables I bought in the basement, left for Arctic Ice, had to wait til 8:30 then Bob brought me home, left, went for a walk, in, bed.
October 13, 1934 Saturday
up 10am, dressed, breakfast, swept floor, cleaned stove, helped to paint at rink til 12:30 pm, home, lunch, Rhoda phoned, out to rink and played touch football til 4:30pm, home 5:30pm, in supper washed dishes, out to rink ti 8:45pm home, phoned taxi for Dad and Hawthorne, he gave me 25¢, went to Robb’s, Gunn, to Evans on Winterton with Rohda til 12:40am, KR left, home, Dad here with a couple of guys, they are gone, made Lil a sandwich, cleared table, up and so to bed.
